- I met Maurice back in the late 80's when he recruited me in to the civil air patrol...ever since that time my life has changed. He prepared me for that crazy decision I made in 1987.... I find myself now with 19 years in the USAF working in special ops. Something Maurice and I have always enjoyed talking about in our younger days. Now Iam and he was that guy we used to talk about. (with the exception that he went the Army route).
Maurice and I had lost contact for several years, 18 to be exact. Up until the latter part of last year, we talked for hours. (We found out that we actually passed each other enroute to a couple of ops) Anyway...He was still full of energy as I remember!!!!! Iam so glad that we talked before his passing, I really wish I could have seen him again. Maurice was a mentor, older brother I never had and most of all my friend. Iam going to miss him dearly.
