- There are so many stories that we would love to write about when it came to Mo, but since we can't share them all this is the one Adolfo and I find ourselves telling most people! Ironically enough we shared it today with one of our friends before even knowing this section was added to the web page! Here it goes... I close my eyes and can see Mo in front of me now as I share it...Mo and Karen were getting ready to leave Florence at about the same time our family was ordered to move to Texas by the Army. We had come across on CatholicSaints.com how if you bury St. Joseph next to the 'for sale' sign and say a prayer your house would sell. Well sure enough we did it and the house sold! We were talking to Mo and he shared with us his frustration about selling the house and we recommended him buying a statue of St.Joseph and burying it! I recall how his eyes widened and he laughed and said, "No man I can't bury a saint! That's just wrong." We reassured him it was fine and where we got the information from. He just laughed! Nevertheless a short time after we were at church Mo grabbed me and we headed to the back of the church where they were selling Catholic items and he said, "Ok I am going to do it! Let's go buy a statue!" He got a statue that was about a foot and a half..it was big compared to our little six inch statue. He even had the Father Art bless it, 'for extra divine help.' But what I remember the most from the story was standing outside of the church on that Sunday and Mo just laughing and saying, "I can't do this I can't bury this saint." "It's just wrong." "Oh Liz, I hope you know what your talking about." Shortly after that his house sold too! We can recall so vividly him holding that statue and laughing. His eyes and smile was always so contagious! I know Adolfo and I will continue to share that story for years to come with people and everytime we do, Mo's laugh will vividly come to mind! I hope you all enjoy our little story and may the peace of our Lord be with you all!
