- I will always remember my discussion with Mo about why in the world did he want to re-enlist Special Forces? Mo told me he knew God had a purpose for him and knew in his heart he was supposed to have an impact on other's lives. He said in his heart, he knew God had a reason for him to go back to Iraq and it may be to touch the life of a child who may someday be the next leader of that country or may someday be a father, and he knew his energy will impact on how that child lives his life. Mo, you were truely successful in your mission. You and Karen have touched so many lives and I know you have made a lasting impression on mine and my husbands souls, and we will forever be better people because of knowing both of you. Many years ago when I was in the midst of a self-destructive eating disorder, Mo and Karen came to Rochester to visit and I remember looking at them in awe, amazed at their zest for life and their incredible happiness and how deeply they truely loved one another. Witnessing their love changed the course of my life and guided me to the path of healing. And Karen and Mo didn't even know how profoundly they touched me until many years later. I will always be greatful to both of you for giving me back my life.
My little sis, you continue to inspire me. You are truely an amazing person. You give tribute to Mo for bringing so many people into your life, but Karen, those people remain close friends, not only because of who Mo was, but because of who you are and all you give to others. You and Mo know and live a life filled with love, and because of that, you are truely some of the "wealthiest" people in this world. As my husband said, when our days are done, if we are half the people you both are, then we will have truely lived with purpose.
Thank you Karen and Mo for having such a profund impact on ours and others lives. Mo's energy and love will live on through you, Max and Gabby, and his mission in life will continue through you. I love you Karen. You, Max and Gabby are in my heart and I am sending you all mine and Sammy's love. |
