(1/7/2010 11:17:35 AM) - Hello and Happy 2010! Please forgive me but I did not send any Christmas cards this year in case you’re wondering why none of you have heard from me. We moved into our house in NY the week before Christmas and it has been a bit crazy around here! The kids and I are doing good and enjoying (?) all the snow! Today is the first day I haven’t had to shovel any of it... I will be leaving this site up for the remainder of the year and then it will close down. If you haven’t already found me on Facebook, please look me up under "Karen Crosby-Heisig". I will also copy what email addresses I can from here so I can stay in touch. I’m not sure what God has in store for us here. I took a big step out on faith by moving here and haven’t regretted it for a minute. I miss my dear friends back in the south but it is good to be home. This past year brought a lot of closure for me and it is time to move on. I know Mo would want me to live my life to the fullest! I would love to hear from you all so please don’t hesitate to contact me! May God’s peace and love surround you in this new year.... |
|
(1/3/2010 10:06:27 PM) - Hello Karen,Just wanted to drop you a line to say hello. Please hug the kids for us.I was thinking about Mo this week and began to search for you.Take care of yourself and keep intouch when you move away.Get my email.Calvin K. |

(12/4/2009 9:14:02 AM) - Hey Karen,
I recently found out that Mo had gone to be with the Lord. After moving away from the Florence area, I lost contact with most people. You may not remember me. I was in Jody Martin’s organiztion and lived in Lamar. You may remember my first wife who wore a halo after breaking her neck in an auto accident. We tied into the Florence team on occassions. I know that has been about 14 years ago. Long time. Anyway, I just wanted to express my condolences, even though it has been four years. I thought a lot of Mo and enjoyed listening to him when he taught at the meetings. I wish you and you family well. |
|
Karen Heisig (1/1/2009 11:52:04 AM) - Hello and prayers for a blessed New Year! I hope this finds our friends well. The kids and I have enjoyed a quiet Christmas and rang in the New Year at home watching the infamous ball drop. Max is now 10 and in the 4th grade and Gabby is almost 8 and in 2nd grade. They are both doing really good in school and Max will move on to 5th if we can decipher his handwriting... It has been a busy year and we have gone through a lot that has stretched me and helped me grow (ouch!). If you haven’’t already heard, the kids and I are planning to move back to NY sometime this year to be closer to family. I am ready for the support that only family can give. My mom is retiring in June so it will be perfect timing! I feel like a new chapter in my life is waiting to be written! Thank you all for your support, friendship, and love! I am the woman I am because of the love of so many! May God keep you always in His sight and may you walk in His peace! |
|
Mary Penn Sherlin (1/26/2009 11:23:17 AM) - Hi Karen, I cannot believe it has been 3 years since Mo has left us all. Each time I think of him the words that come to mind are joy, enthusiasm, and love for life, and especially love for his family. It was great to talk with you several months ago. Good luck with the move...I know the family is waiting with open arms to welcome you back to you NY home. Peace to all, Mary Penn |

(1/22/2009 12:21:37 PM) - Hi Karen, I am so sorry to hear about Mo. I was on Facebook yesterday looking for Niagara University friends and I found your page. I wasn’t sure if you would remember me. I was George’s girlfriend then. Today I googled Mo’s name to see if I could find him and I found this page. I was so sorry when I realized that it was his memorial page. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Mo was such a great person. I am sorry I didn’t get to see him one last time. |
|

Karen Heisig (4/9/2007 10:33:56 AM) - Easter Blessings to anyone who may read this...Thought it was about time for an update on how the Heisig clan is doing...
God's grace and care are amazing and we are all doing well. I am getting ready to start a Creative Writing course next week and have taken a very part-time job while the kids are in school working at a delightful shop in the downtown Fayetteville area. I love it! Max is doing great at St. Patrick's School (2nd grade) and thinks he is almost as tall as me. I hate to tell him but he has a ways to go. He is such an amazing young boy! Gabby turns 6 tomorrow and is every bit a girl as ever. She loves kindergarten and is a social butterfly! Her daddy would be delighted in the big girl she has become! We are still in Fayetteville and will remain here until God decides otherwise! My extended family here is incredible.
We pray this finds all of you well and may God bless you! |

Marc R. McCreery (2/27/2007 8:59:28 PM) - Karen, I just found out this past drill weekend about Mo. I guess I just got too busy with life to keep in touch with my friend. You have a picture of me with Mo in your Gallery on pg5 under the caption "Military Mo". We had just signed into the 2-19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in WV and were waiting to zero our new weapons on the range. He was still a Major, but he told me of his plans where he was going to resign his commission just so he could go through training and end up on an A-Team. Since we knew each other previously, we had plans where I was going to get him onto my A-Team once he completed the Q-course since I was getting a Team. I stayed in touch with him over time to see where he was in his training and sounded like everything was going well until his father got ill. I ended up taking my Team over in January06 to Iraq just about 2 weeks before Mo's death. I only wish I could have been there for Mo. You and the kids have my deepest sympathy and many blessings. Please take care of yourself and them.
Respectfully,
Marc R. McCreery

Ronal E. Alston (12/4/2006 5:42:46 PM) - Karen,
Thank you so much for allowing this site to be here. I am sure that others find it to be of solace in their on way, as do I. They may not always leave a message. Yet the flag flying on the homepage is a remembrance of Mo's free spirit as it shines in God's light. May your Joy flourish in this season of celebration. |
|
steve and Debbie Phelps (10/31/2006 10:24:23 PM) - Karen, Debbie and I think of you and the children often...We miss Mo...I think back at how he lead his platoon as we went into Panama...Mo was something else...His troops loved and respected him....I did too...I miss him Karen....We are so sorry for your loss, but will always carry his goodness with us....Peace. |

Brian Jackson (10/16/2006 6:57:48 AM) - Karen,
Not sure if you remember, but I was a distributor in your line back in the early 90s (via the Andersons). While I did not remain in the biz, I always remembered Mo's infectious morale and personality! We traveled to Columbus, GA, together in that old convertible Mercedes. It was October or something and he had the top down the whole way back! Needless to say, I froze my buns off! Anyway, I had thought of that trip and decided to see if I could find him online to see how he was. I was saddened to learn of your loss, but renewed in spirit at the outpouring of emotion for Mo's memory. I wish you and your beautiful children well. My thoughts are with you. |
|
AR (9/10/2006 1:16:39 PM) - MO:
Our conversations live in my mind. There is no greater love and we all know it!
Thank you. |

Russ Gasdia (7/14/06 3:54:47 PM) - Karen
I hope that you and your family are doing well. I want you to know that MO's spirit continues to impact us here at Purdue. Those of us who came to know Mo through Purdue were blessed and came to respect him for his high level of professionalism, strong work ethic and outstanding character. We continue to hold him in our thoughts and keep you and your family in your prayers. Personally, I think of Mo often and truly miss his smile.

Mike Morgan and SGM (RET) Albe (7/1/06 7:43:50 PM) - To Karen and Kids: Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I went to NU with Maurice and SGM Morace was one of his ROTC instructors. SGM Morace always admired Mo and thought of him as a super trooper that he was. As a more senior cadet, Maurice always provided the guidance and mentorship to us younger guys who always wanted to be like him. We were deeply saddened by this news.
very respectfully

Cynthia (Eclavea)Kallet (6/7/06 9:24:34 PM) - I only learned of Maurice's death from NU's alumni news and was greatly saddened. I attended Karen and Mo's wedding in Rochester in 1989. I met Mo during our first year at Niagara U. He was a great guy! |
|
Denise McGuire (6/6/06 1:11:22 PM) - Karen, I don't believe we ever met...I knew Mo at Niagara U. We were in ROTC there together. My heart sank when I opened my NU newsletter this morning. Mo is one of the few college friends that I remember vividly. He spent his time lifting people up - he was a rock to lean on. I can't tell you how many times he slowed his pace in a run to get those of us at the rear to finish! I am so sorry that you and your children are suffering this tremendous loss. My prayers are with you and your family. |
|
John Alan Short (5/15/06 10:37:49 AM) - Karen your husband, Max & Gabby your Dad was my best friend. He was the first and only other adult male that I shared with, confided with, counseled with and trusted like I do my own Dad. I loved and respected Mo very much and still do. He helped me in so many ways that I would be challenged to list them all. I know that God put Mo in my life for a positive reason which I have seen many times and still do, even today. Karen thanks so much for being a good friend to Steph, the kids & I. Max & Gabby we love you and I know your Daddy loved you so very, very much. Mo was always talking about his "Best Bud" (Max) & his Princess (Gabby).
May God Bless & keep you safe & strong and may the holy spirit comfort you.
In Christ Love Always,
John

Melissa Smith and Crystal Howe (4/28/06 9:04:53 AM) - Our friend Mo!! We worked in a physicians office where Mo used to frequent us often.Mo is and always will be the type of man who always came in with a smile on his face and always left the same way. It did not matter how bad your day was when he came through the doors everything seemed to disappear. His wonderful SMILE and loving way about him will always be remembered in our hearts. If we could touch only a small portion of people that Mo touched in his lifetime this world would be a much greater place. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you and the children. God Bless |
|
Tammy Springs (4/28/06 8:18:16 AM) - I knew Mo as a drug rep. He was a wonderul person. His always, smiling face was a breath of fresh air!

Ronal E. Alston (3/8/06 11:37:07 AM) - Karen:
"Hi." The days since the celebration I hope have been as gracious. Each has its own defining moments to be grateful for and rejoice. As my computer landed at Mo's site, there was this strong unction to just say, "Hi." Like the surety of sunrise, I hope you and the children are as well. |

Talitha Nguyen (2/23/06 11:01:53 PM) - I believe that we are drawn to friendship with certain people because of what we admire in them. Mo was GENUINE, honest, kind, funny, and so much more. I saw in Mo what I wish were inside of myself. I now live trying to nuture those characteristics in myself, that are within all of us but become masked by self conciousness, envy, judgement, frustration, and all the negative thoughts we allow into our lives. Thank you Mo for everything you continue to give to those of us who knew you. Thank you Karen, Max, and Gabby. |

Karen Heisig..... (2/15/06 9:33:35 PM) - "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! Because His mercy endures forever!"...Psalm 118...This is only the 2nd time I have been on this amazing site. The 1st time I became a puddle and never made it past a dozen messages. Tonight I read so many of your heartfelt words and know that so many share our sorrow and absolute love of Mo. Our children and I are not alone in this! I had no doubt that Mo was known and loved by many but these last 3 weeks have astounded me. The outpouring of love, tenderness and generosity of so many humbles me. God gave me the most beautiful gift ever in my husband and our children. We always talked about how blessed we are because we have so many amazing friends. Mo is my connection to so many of you and for that I will be eternally grateful! Thank you from the depths of my heart for your support and prayers. Many people have asked what they can do for us....my answer is to please put our name on some random future day on the calendar and give us a call or drop us a note. God will use you to touch us when we need it the most! My heart aches but I FEEL your prayers and the peace of the Lord sustains me. Please take the joy that Mo brought to each of you and pass it on. Give to someone the gift of his infectious smile and enthusiasm for life! Our love to each and every one of you and until we meet again....Karen |
|
Flo Shupe (2/11/06 2:06:08 PM) - Karen, Max & Gabby
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. If there was one thing I knew about him, it was how much you guys meant to him. It is hard to put into words what Mo meant to me. He was such a special person who never failed to make me feel better when he was around. My heart breaks when I realize I won't hear our special "MO/FLO" greeting till I see him in heaven. It is comfroting to know Mo is there and smiling down on us with no more inner pain. Even though my heart has a hole in it now which will be slow to heal, I am a better person for having had the luck to call him friend and through him for having you guys in my life from here on out. Mo had such a positive impact on my life and the lives of other important poeple in my life. I intend to honor his memory by making sure that impact is not wasted. The tears will eventually stop, the hurt will fade BUT the memories of him will last forever. Please know that "Mom" Bernice, Shane and I are there for you.
Love, Flo |

Karen Thompson (2/4/06 11:01:07 AM) - Dear Karen, Max & Gabby, I have just learned of Mo’s passing. I am extremely sorry for your loss of such a great guy. Mo had a most unforgettable personality. I don’t believe I ever saw him without a smile on his face. I wish I could have tapped some of his energy, too. I had the privileged of sharing both of your excitement during your pregnancy with Gabby. It was always obvious that you and his children were very important to him. Know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. And based on reading the list of messages here, if a person’s success in life is measured by the friends he has made, Mo was an extremely wealthy man. May God bless you all during this difficult time. |

Sharon (2/3/06 1:41:10 PM) - Karen-your family has been on my mind for days, so I decided I needed to share my "Mo" story to. I had the pleasure of speaking with Mo when he came into the Coffee Shop I managed a few years ago. He would come in for cookies. I did not know him well, but he was always very pleasant and took the time to get to know each of us in the shop. Whenever I saw him outside of the shop, he always spoke. He obviously touched my life and the others that I worked with at the time. I am very proud to say that yes, I knew Mo Hesig and I know that he is watching over us all from heaven. I also know that Mo's spirit lives on, it is obvious from all of the signatures on this site. It's nice to be able to come here and smile when we read all of the beautiful things people say about their "Mo" experience. Know that his wonderful life is still being celebrated thru these little excerpts and stories that will remain with us all. |

Debbie Matthews (2/1/06 12:11:31 PM) - For the first time in my life I can't find the words. That's why I have waited so long to do this. I'm sure you know how great Mo was and is, but to this world the day is certainly dimmer, and heaven is brighter.Once in awhile you will meet someone who is special to some, but Mo became special to everyone once he simply said hello. He has been and will continue to be an inspiration to us all. May we strive to be the best friend, family member,co-worker,and christian that Mo would like for us to be. May we have the love of country and dedication that he has. I look forward to seeing him in heaven and will greatly miss the coffee and friendship he shared with Dr. Gregory Brownings office. Loved and missed by us all. God bless and keep you and the children, may he send some type of light that will help brighten your path. Until we see that contagious grin again! |

DAVE & PHOEBE CROSBY (2/1/06 10:20:56 AM) - Dear Karen, even though we are your uncle and aunt, we didn't really have a chance to get to know Mo, having lived so far from you until recently. After having spent the past few days with you, have found how MANY PEOPLE he seems to have touched in numereous ways and how sorely he will be missed. We share with you your sadness, and yet know that you will be sustained by the many good memories, and the closeness of his/your many friends for years to come. May he soar with the Angels now...those heavenly beings who stand guard over You, Max, and Gabby..... |
|
Rebecca Sterling (2/1/06 10:02:02 AM) - Dear Karen and Family,
I knew Mo through Purdue. He was always one of the people that I enjoyed talking with because his ideas and stories and thoughts were kind and joyful and family oriented. I was so sad to hear this news. My prayers are with you. |
|
Rick & Kathy Lawson (2/1/06 8:45:07 AM) - All that has been said about Mo Heisig on this site as well as much that may never be said is true. Mo was a patriot, a man of character and courage, a man of honor that loved his wife and children. Mo was a great businessman and a man that truly loved people and tried to serve everyone he met. But, to me, he was much more than all of this; he was my friend. Mo was THE MAN in my life that I could talk to about anything and everything. We shared our most intimate thoughts and concerns without any concern for judgment and swore to love, support, and serve each other for all the days of our lives. I hope I lived up to my promise in his life because he certainly lived up to his pledge in mine.
And so, even though it may seem odd to many, I support him even in his death. I don't understand but I will not question his decision. After much emotional torment, agonizing thought, and analysis, it was the decision he felt was right for him.
Now I will try to fulfill my oath to him and try to serve his family the way I know he would have supported mine. Karen, Kathy & I will always be there for you, Max, & Gabby. We may not always be able to meet all of your needs but we will certainly try. For all of your life, never hesitate to call us at any time of the day or night and never hesitate to allow us to try to serve you and your children. An old "Air Lifter" saying is: “You call, we haul. Anything; Any Time; Any Place”. We want to be this and more for you.
We love you,
Rick & Kathy

Carl Green (2/1/06 6:46:57 AM) - Good Morning Karen! I woke up this morning with you and Mo on my mind. I did not personally know Mo, but I do know being he was a part of the CVT Family, he had to be an exceptional, outstanding individual. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. My friend Amy Sepko spoke highly of him. She spoke about how positive he was and how he expressed happiness everytime she saw him and talked with him. The pictures of Mo and his family say a great deal about him because the family seems like a fun, wonderful family.
I have learned one thing from losing those we love and I will pass this on to you - death may take him away from you and his family and friends, but death can never remove Mo from the hearts of those who loved him and knew him. Take care and you all are in my prayers. |
|

I'll always remeber him that way. He shared pictures of you and your children with me the last time I saw him. He was so proud of his family. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. |

Steece & Julia (1/31/06 3:06:08 PM) - It is truly a rare thing when you find a friend as special as Mo. When all of Karen’s family and friends are supposed to be there for her to encourage and lift her up, I found that she was the one doing the lifting! As I sat in the pews of the church Monday morning, I felt a lot of hurt at what had happened. It was not until “Saint” Karen began to speak that I was able to have true understanding. Mo has always been an amazing person and someone many of us aspired to emulate, but as I listened and watched Karen, I realized something Mo had always said was true…He really did marry UP!
I will always remember Mo as one of my best friends. I will always remember our 24hr drive from Florence, SC to Toronto Canada through a blinding blizzard that snowed in most of the East Coast. I will remember the Cuban Cigar we smoked while drinking British beer sitting in a British Pub eating Haggis while watching a red-moon eclipse in downtown Toronto.
Mo lit up my life as well as everyone he ever met! Even though he is hanging out with the Saints in Heaven now, he has made this world a better place for thousands of people. I will always remember the words Karen said Monday morning…”Thank you honey, for giving me all of these friends.” That touched me in a profound way, because I have so many friends now all because of Mo’s insatiable desire to meet one more person.
Karen, you know we will always be here for you, Max and Gabby!
Thank you Mo! Thank you for making this world a better place!

Ciro C. Stefano (1/31/06 2:56:32 PM) - Dearest Karen, Max and Gabby,
My prayers are with you and my heart reaches out to you. I am comforted only by the fact that I know that your hearts and faith are solidly rooted in the Lord! Karen, you “always” have such a wonderful smile on your face that it literally lights up the place. Max and Gabby, I can say without a doubt that your father was one of the most honorable, hard-working, caring, and giving men I’ve ever had the honor to know. His smile and attitude were contagious and he was always the consummate edifier! I deeply respect and admire him for not only what he accomplished in the army, but for the wonderful example of a husband, father, entrepreneur and leader of men that he forever was. God bless you – always! Love, Ciro “RLTW” Mo’s in heaven now, making God and others smile :^)

Kevin & Karen Nichols (1/30/06 6:47:17 PM) - Dear Karen, While we did not know Mo very well, we are witnesses to the influence he had on our lives through those he helped in both his military career and Quixtar business. His mentorship has saved many and the effects will continue to grow because of his courage and strength to make a difference. As a witness to the memorial today, he was greatly loved and will not be forgotten. It was so approapriate in my reading today, regarding possibilities. "The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18 Our prayers give expression to lives that go far beyond the past and present and reach into what is promised and prophesied. We understand ourselves in terms of possibilities yet to be realized. May God bless Mo and your family to make all your dreams come true. Your friends and family will see you all through. In the eye of the storm, God feels your hurt but can't help but heal these hurts. |

It has been a while since we have seen each other, but Mo was never far away from us. I still spoke with him about every 2 months or so and his voice was always a vibrant reminder of the times that we worked together.
I roomed with Mo for almost 3 years at Purdue and loved the times we had together. He would always burst into our room as he arrived at the meeting with a vivacious, "What's up dude!!" and a huge hug. I loved his energy and we loved him dearly. He was a constant enjoyment and treasured you, Max, and Gabby more than anything in the world. God bless all of you as you remain in our prayers daily. |

He was always the shining light during our meetings, even when things seemed so bleak at Purdue. I was helping with my daughters Sunday School lesson today, and immediately thought of you.
Psalms 121---I lift up my eyes to the hills-from where will my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.
All our prayers are with you.

Clarence & Alexandra Allen (1/29/06 4:50:17 PM) - Mo' and Karen,
Though my wife and I have never met you, the eternal impact you made in your life runs deep through my family. A simple series of handshakes connects our family with yours. The mentorship and guidance we have received through the leaders in your organization is priceless. Our motivation to be in this business is based on the motives of our hearts. It transends money and time. Through your efforts and sacrifices, the thin thread that runs through my family, runs through many other families whom we have reached. In that, your legacy lives on. |

Karen, you and your little ones are in our prayers. If we can ever be of assistance, please give us a call.
We look forward, with great anticipation, The Day when we shall see our Lord and all those who have gone before. Isa 25:8; 1 Cor.15:20-23; Rev. 19 & 21
